LaMoyne stars and Ashanti dolls express the
wish of every parent - bring to us a healthy child. This quilt
combines the cloth of Senegal and Nigeria with the akuaba
doll design of Ghana to state the wish of all people in all
places - let this girl be strong, this boy be swift, let our
child go beyond us in deed and reward. And so the doll children
break out from the wished upon stars through the border of
red birth to the red black border of life. And then for our
child we wish again and again we hope.
