This will be a class for beginning quilters
and is designed to take away the mysteries of when and how
to make a quilt.
The following topics will be covered:
- hand and machine piecing
- seam allowances
- planning and designing your project
- tools to use
- quilting and binding your project
The first class is a planning session:
- What is my project?
- What tools will I need?
- What if I don’t know what to make?
- How to use your instructor?
The two hour class meets once a week for six
weeks.

This class provides a brief history of Crazy
Quilts - the decorative quilts that enjoyed great popularity
during the late Victorian era, pieced in nontraditional patterns
and decorated with elaborate embroidery, appliqué work
and painting. An overview of the uses of crazy quilting will
be discussed. Participants learn piecing methods, traditional
hand stichery, basic embellishments - appliqué, beading,
ribbon work and complete one learning project.
The two hour class meets once a week for eight
weeks.
